Ordering

Credit or Debit Card - Ordering online with us is safe and secure! We use Sage Pay (Protx) secure payment, the preferred choice of several High Street banks. Simply click on the Credit or Debit Card option in Checkout to enter your card details securely. We accept all major credit cards, including AMEX.

Telephone (credit or debit card) - Please call the Birthstone Gifts free phone orderline on 0800 0380 103 (open 7 days a week between 9:30am - 10pm BST. If there is no answer, please leave your name and telephone number and we will call you back). We can process and approve your card details instantly and securely. You may also use this number for order requests and enquiries such as custom orders, deadlines, and specific delivery requests.

PayPal - If you would like to pay using PayPal, please click on the PayPal link in the shopping cart. Payment is instant and your order will be processed immediately. You can also pay by credit/debit card without becoming a PayPal member.

Cheques - You may also send us a personal cheque. Personal cheques will delay your order as we must wait for your funds to clear before we ship any merchandise (approx 5 working days for clearing cheques). Please allow an additional 2-3 working days for shipping of your merchandise after your cheque is cleared. To order by cheque, just print the order form with your shopping cart contents from the order confirmation page and complete the necessary fields, then mail the form to the address above. Please make cheques payable to Birthstone Gifts.

Delivery

Please allow 2-3 working days for your order to be dispatched, unless Fast Track service is selected.

All UK orders are sent by either:

• Royal Mail First Class Recorded Delivery - This is the least expensive method, however jewellery is not insured and the parcel is not tracked until delivery/attempted delivery has been made. Delivery usually takes between 1-6 days after the parcel has been dispatched;
• Royal Mail Special Delivery - Your package is guaranteed to arrive by 1pm the next working day, after the parcel has been dispatched. All parcels are insured up to the value of £500;
• Royal Mail Special Saturday Delivery - Your package is guaranteed to arrive on Saturday, if ordered before noon on Wednesday. All parcels are insured up to the value of £500.
• Fast Track Service - If your order is placed before 12 noon, we will dispatch your package the same working day by Royal Mail Special Delivery. After 12 noon, your order will be dispatched the next working day. Your package is guaranteed to arrive by 1pm, the next working day after dispatch. All parcels are insured up to the value of £500.
• Fast Track Saturday Service - If your order is placed before 12 noon on Friday, we will dispatch your package the same day by Royal Mail Special Saturday Delivery. Your package is guaranteed to arrive by 1pm on Saturday. All parcels are insured up to the value of £500.

Costs are calculated by weight, with an average First Class Recorded Delivery package costing £2.75; £5.82 for Special Delivery; and £7.76 for Special Saturday Delivery (prices include VAT at 17.5%). Fast Track costs £9.99 (includes Special Delivery postage) and Fast Track Saturday costs £11.98 (included Special Delivery Saturday postage).

All overseas orders are sent by 'Airsure' or International 'Signed For' (please allow 5-14 days for your package to arrive). Costs are calculated by weight and by destination. Postage costs do not include possible custom charges for your country. Please contact your customs office for further information. For all these postage options you will need to sign for your item on delivery.

Items lost in transit Royal Mail declare an item as lost after 15 working days from the expected delivery date. Birthstone Gifts will provide a free replacement after 15 working days of this date.

Packaging

We take great care in packaging your item, to ensure your jewellery is not damaged during transit. All pieces are presented in a high quality jewellery box (see image below). Information on your chosen birthstone and jewellery care instructions are also provided.

Why not gift-wrap your item in luxury embossed paper, tied with satin ribbon and include a personal message in a beautiful gift-card or gift-tag. The image below shows both adult and child gift-wrap with gift-tags. Please see individual item descriptions for details.

Refund/Exchange Policy

Each handmade piece we sell is carefully inspected before it is shipped, to ensure your jewellery is of the highest quality. We are confident that you will be delighted with your purchase, however please read our refund policy before placing an order:

Refunds - We understand how difficult it can be to buy from the internet, and your satisfaction is very important to us. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase (for whatever reason) you can return the item/s undamaged and with the *security tag attached within 14 days of receiving the item/s for a refund or exchange. Before returning the item/s, please notify us via the contact form on this website or by telephone (0800 0380 103). We will send you full instructions on how to return the item/s. Items sent back without prior approval will be returned to the sender. * Items cannot be returned if the security tag has been removed, re-attached or tampered with.

Birthstone Gifts are one of the few companies who offer a refund on personalised jewellery. Many pieces can be returned for a full refund, whilst others are not suitable for re-sale and require dismantling. For such pieces, a 20% 'breaking' fee is deducted from the value of the returned item/s*

Exchanges - You may return your jewellery for an exchange, up to 14 days after the order was received. The value of the exchanged item must be equal to or higher than the original order. You will not be charged a breaking fee, only the additional cost of the exchanged item and postage.

All returned items must be carefully repackaged in the original packaging. No refund/exchanges can be given if the item is damaged. A £3 fee will be charged if the jewellery box is damaged.

Please note that gift wrap, gift cards and postage are non-refundable.

Handmade Process

All of our jewellery is handmade to the highest standard by British jewellery designer Lilia N. Many components used are also handmade or hand-cut, without use of machinery. Therefore small imperfections should be expected. Indeed, these add to the uniqueness and charm of each piece.

Breakages - Our Guarantee

We take pride in our work and take particular care to ensure that your piece of jewellery is of sufficient quality to be a keepsake. All jewellery is quality checked after it is made and before dispatch.

We personally choose all of the gemstones, crystals and metals used in our jewellery, purchased from reliable sources. All Sterling silver and 9k gold components are obtained from our manufacturing sources in the UK and USA, or handmade 'in-house'.

In the unlikely event of a breakage due to our workmanship, you can return the item within 30 days of receipt for a refund or free repair. Workmanship covers – soldering work, wire work and stringing only. After 30 days, a small fee will be charged for the repair. If a piece of jewellery is damaged, not due to our workmanship (through misuse, 'normal' wear and tear, accident, or neglect) a small fee will be charged to cover the cost of the materials and time spent on the repair.

If you claim a breakage/fault before the item has been worn (i.e. in transit), the security tag must not have been removed to qualify for a free repair. By removing the tag, you accept the jewellery in its current condition. Claims must be made within 5 calendar days of receipt.

Please contact us beforehand to let us know what is wrong with the item and for a quote. Please note that regularly worn bead-strung pieces should be restrung every 6 months or so, to avoid breakages. Postage costs are payable by the customer.

Natural Birthstone Charms - please note that many of the natural birthstone charms are fragile and care should be taken when wearing the gemstone charm bracelets in particular. Knocks against surfaces and door handles etc. will cause the stone/s to fracture. Therefore, this type of bracelet is not suitable for children or regular wear. Damage to, or loss of gemstone charms is not covered by the guarantee. Unless the item is a keepsake/very occasional wear, please select the Swarovski crystal birthstone charms.
